Creating a PDF from CorelDraw (Mac & PC)

  1. Under the File menu, select Publish To PDF
  2. A sub-menu will appear:

    • The Save in option is the folder in which your PDF file will be created. Be sure you know where this folder is located because you will need to navigate to it when uploading the file or burning a CD.
    • Set Save as type to Adobe PDF (*.PDF)
    • Set PDF Style to PDF for Pre press
    • Choose a different file name, or leave it the same as your CorelDraw document.
  3. Click on Settings.
  4. The following menu will appear:

    • Change Compatibility to Acrobat 5.0. This will change the PDF style to Custom
  5. If your document has bleeds, select the Pre press tab. If not, skip directly to step 7.
  6. For documents with bleeds only:

    • Turn on Include Bleed and set to 0.062"
    • Turn on Crop marks, Registration marks, and File information
    • Click OK
  7. Click on Save. Your PDF file will be created.
  8. Open the PDF file in Acrobat and check for reflow, correct graphic placement, etc.
